Niemand gelooft het maar ik waarschuw er al langer voor:
de achterruit van de Testarossa's breken volop op dit moment !
Dit komt hoofdzakelijk door het gebruik van de krik aan 1 zijde; het buizenframe buigt door
en de ruit zit in het midden en breekt.
Opkrikken kan je het beste aan de achterzijde doen met 2 krikken (gelijktijdig) onder de balken...
Of aan beide voorkanten tegelijk omhoog... (geen frictie in het buizenframe...) !
Schade kost je: tenminste € 3000 ! En zijn niet meer te krijgen tenzij je een sloper weet...
Of je moet er eentje na laten maken van plastic....
Hier (weer) een txt uit America van iemand die zelf zijn ruit heeft gebroken...
Testarossa Rear Window Glass

Hi Guys.
Read many threads where jacking up the car and other things have contributed to the rear window on the TR cracking. Seems to becoming a big problem lately.
The car I am working on also has had this happen. The glass in some cases is going on 25 years old now.
There was another company making them in AZ, however having bought things in the past from them
I would be cautious regarding plexiglass. I also dont think they are available any longer.
I am going to be making a 100% acrylic rear window for a TR.
It will have the exact same dimensions as the original as well as the best scratch resistence and hardness available. This is the same acrylic used in Nascar
Was wondering if anyone else might like to get in on this limited run?
If it could be spread out over 10-15 pieces the cost would certainly be lowered from one unit.
The factory replacement glass lists out on Eurospares for around $1800 USD.
If we did this the cost would be $500.00 Each. Shipping and boxing would be at cost.
Can it hurt to have this one as a spare, or if yours is already cracked?
Thoughts? Count?
